Hi, I’m Kaleab Girma Abebe. I previously worked as a general practitioner in Ethiopia and am currently an MBA candidate with experience in healthcare, public health, digital health, and healthcare operations. I am interested in understanding why healthcare systems do not always work well and finding practical ways to improve them.
My approach is to get close to a problem, listen to the people experiencing it, understand the root cause, and work with others to find useful and sustainable solutions. My past experience has allowed me to see healthcare from different sides, including clinical care, public health, healthcare technology, and system improvement. I am now building on those experiences through my MBA and by continuing to learn more about the U.S. healthcare system.
I value service, respect, trust, teamwork, curiosity, and continuous learning. I believe good solutions often come from bringing the right people together, listening to different ideas, and being willing to learn and improve along the way.
My professional interests are at the intersection of healthcare, business, and technology, with a focus on improving how healthcare systems work. Through this blog, I plan to share ideas, experiences, and lessons related to healthcare systems, digital health and technology, business, leadership, and problem solving.
In the long term, I hope to build something of my own in healthcare that brings people together to solve problems and better serve communities.
